5 Formal Looks for Super-Sized Guys
At Mega Men, we believe that dressing to impress has never been easier for those gents blessed with impressive proportions.
5 Ways to look Large & Suave
Keep reading the blog as we reveal five formal looks for you to try (and we know you’ll be turning heads wherever you go).
Keeping it Old School
For a more traditional look, choose a dark suit like a Carlo Galucci Charcoal 2-button or a Monatic navy pinstripe. Combine it with a light coloured shirt of your choice and then top it off with an elegant satin tie that either stands out or matches your suit. If you’re going for the stand-out option, keep it tasteful and understated – perhaps burgundy with charcoal, for example.
The Relaxed Two-Tone Blazer & Longs Look
If you’re not too keen on the old-fashioned, single-colour suit, perhaps you can try a pair of brown or beige Sterling Danies trousers, paired with a simple white shirt and then topped off with dark blue blazer like this Monatic navy one. You can ditch the tie on this one, or if you are a stickler for the formal dress code, add a robust cotton one in the colour of your choice.
Rock the Sports Coat
Add a little more personal style by switching the blazer for a sports coat with a touch more variety and patterning. This is obviously not suitable for a strict formal dress code, as it’s best for you to drop the tie and open up your shirt collar. The effect is still smart and formal on the whole, however.
The Dinner Party Look
Maybe you need to look your best at a cocktail or dinner party. Why not go with a plain black suit and change your neckwear to a bowtie?
Change it Up
So far so traditional. The formal men’s suit, or trouser-blazer/sport coat combo doesn’t have to be conservative. Play around with colours and mix and match until you find something that suits your style. Your coat needn’t match your trousers and you shouldn’t be afraid to wear a tie that stands out and catches the eye. Try a belt that contrasts your trousers or ditch the belt completely and wears a colourful pair of braces. The formal suit is a framework inside of which a world of variety can be found.
